Igbos are not jews

Share this:

The claim that Igbos are Jews is a complex one, with a long history. There is no scientific evidence to support the claim, and it is generally rejected by mainstream Jewish organizations. However, there is a small but vocal minority of Igbos who believe that they are descended from the ancient Israelites.

There are a number of reasons why some Igbos might believe that they are Jews. One reason is that there are some similarities between Igbo culture and Jewish culture. For example, both Igbos and Jews have a strong emphasis on family and community, and both groups have a long history of persecution. Additionally, some Igbos believe that the Bible contains references to Igbos, such as the story of the lost tribes of Israel.

However, there are also a number of reasons why the claim that Igbos are Jews is not supported by evidence. For example, there is no genetic evidence to support the claim. Additionally, the Bible does not specifically mention Igbos, and the references that some Igbos point to are open to interpretation.

Ultimately, the question of whether or not Igbos are Jews is a matter of personal belief. There is no scientific evidence to support the claim, but there are a number of reasons why some Igbos might believe it. It is important to respect the beliefs of others, even if we do not agree with them.

I agree with the statement that Igbos should be proud of their own culture and heritage. There is no need to try to claim a different identity. We should focus on building a better future for our people, and on fighting for equality and justice. There is no superior race, and the idea of race is just that: an idea. We should all be free to be ourselves.

You’re Igbo not a Jew or Hebrew, get used to it…why are you not comfortable in your own skin? Why must you keep claiming Jewish origin? We are once told that Africa is a cradle of civilization and even some scientific establishment believed mankind actually evolved in Africa. Why then are you trying to claim otherwise.

From your traditional religion, you moved to Christianity and from there now to Jewish religion and soon you will claim to be of an Asian breed and join Buddhist religion … what happened to your own if you must have one.

Our struggle should be centred on total emancipation of our people, economic freedom, equal and fair treatment. There is no superior race. The race itself is just an idea.

    Be yourself.
