Before we end this convention today, I would like to propose a vote of thanks for the following people without whom today’s convention would not have been possible.

Firstly to YB Datuk Amar Tan Sri Dr George Chan Hong Nam, Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Industrial Development and Minister of Modernization of Agriculture, for taking time to grace the opening ceremony of the convention this morning;

Our distinguished guests from the various African Embassies;

Your Excellency Dr Wahab Dosunmu, High Commissioner of the Republic of Nigeria to Malaysia. Mr Paul Shisengo, First Secretary, Namibia High Commission. Mr Fathala KH Gabriel, Asst Secretary for Information and Cultural Affairs. Mr Mustafa Khalifa, Director of Libyan Cultural Embassy of Libya, for your support and for coming all the way from Kuala Lumpur this weekend to participate in first African convention;

Our eloquent speakers for the day, Dr Suleyman Muyibi from Nigeria and our very own Dr Julie Wee, for sharing your knowledge and views today,

Our master of ceremonies for the day, Dr Lawal Ahmad of Nigeria who usefully guided our speakers and Mr Julian Jong whose experience and charm was invaluable. Mr Michael Temitope the Chief editor of our inaugural Mind Opener Magazine.

Most importantly our Association without which the convention would not have materializes, members and staff of INTI College Sarawak, who have worked hard to bring this convention to fruition;

The Borneo Post and F&N for co-sponsoring the event and all other members of the press for coverage;

And to all of you, Ladies and Gentlemen, who have assisted one way or the other to help organize this great event today.

Thank you.
