Dreaming and thinking out loud

I dream of a Nigeria where we can elect a leader who is not bound by tribal or religious affiliation. A leader who is visionary, unifying, and capable of getting things done. A leader who will secure our lives and properties, diversify and grow our economy, believe in our citizens, and develop our infrastructure. A leader who will employ modern technology to advance our lives, fix our problems, and be a leader for all Nigerians, not just those who voted for him or belong to his tribe or religion. A leader who is corrupt-free, promotes research and development, has a strategy to improve our educational system and healthcare system, can enforce social security, fixes our judiciary and constitution, enforces laws and order, listens to all marginalized groups and looks for solutions, and allows the freedom of the press, speech, and association. A leader who is not a tyrant, dictator, tribalist, vindictive, clannish, bigot, or too fragile.

I believe that such a leader exists, and I hope that one day we will have the opportunity to elect him or her. Nigeria has the potential to be a great nation, and I believe that the right leader can help us achieve our full potential.

Here are some specific qualities that I would look for in a Nigerian leader:

  • Vision: A leader with a clear vision for the future of Nigeria. Someone who can articulate a plan for how to improve the lives of all Nigerians.
  • Unity: A leader who can unite Nigerians from all walks of life. Someone who can bridge the divides between tribes, religions, and regions.
  • Competence: A leader who is capable of getting things done. Someone who has the experience and skills necessary to lead Nigeria into the future.
  • Integrity: A leader who is honest and trustworthy. Someone who will put the interests of Nigeria first.
  • Courage: A leader who is not afraid to make tough decisions. Someone who will stand up for what is right, even when it is unpopular.

I believe that a leader with these qualities can help Nigeria achieve its full potential. I hope that one day we will have the opportunity to elect such a leader.

  • How I wish Nigerians can employ any of these men… Prof. Kingsley Muoghalu and Omoyele Sowore

If only we can use our brains this time without considering our tribal or religious affiliation… We might get it right.

I don’t care which state or tribe he comes from. ALL I CARE FOR IS A VISIONARY LEADER, A UNIFIER, A GO-GETTER, A FAST THINKER,
A LEADER WHOSE PRIMARY GOAL WILL BE TO SECURE THE LIVES AND PROPERTIES OF HER CITIZEN,

MUST HAVE THE CAPACITY TO DIVERSIFY & GROW OUR ECONOMY,

A LEADER THAT WILL BELIEVE IN HER CITIZENS REGARDLESS OF THEIR AFFILIATIONS,

A LEADER WHO IS READY FROM DAY ONE,

A LEADER WHO IS READY TO DEVELOP OUR INFRASTRUCTURE,

A LEADER WHO WILL EMPLOY MODERN TECHNOLOGY TO ADVANCE OUR LIVES,

    A FIXER, NOT A COMPLAINER,

A LEADER FOR ALL CITIZENS NOT JUST THOSE THAT VOTED FOR HIM OR THAT BELONGED TO HIS TRIBE, RELIGION

    MUST BE CORRUPT FREE

READY TO PROMOTE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT,

HAVE A STRATEGY TO IMPROVE OUR EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM, HEALTH CARE SYSTEM,

    ABILITY TO ENFORCE SOCIAL SECURITY,

WHO CAN FIX OUR JUDICIARY, AND CONSTITUTION AND ENFORCE LAWS AND ORDER,

ABLE TO LISTEN TO ALL MARGINALISED GROUPS AND LOOK FOR A SOLUTION,

A LEADER MUST ALLOW THE FREEDOM OF THE PRESS, FREEDOM OF SPEECH, FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION

THAT PERSON MUST NOT BE A TYRANT, A DICTATOR, A TRIBALIST, A VINDICTIVE AND CLANNISH PERSON, A BIGOT AND TOO FRAGILE.
